Whilst I have a number of objectives to achieve and like many have chosen to use the New Year to take some time and think about them, I also want to try and make a few attitude changes.
I think I grew a lot in 2016, as a person. I feel more comfortable saying what I think, I will happily ask questions of people, and give people my honest opinion. These traits do come with some trade-offs. I am probably less concerned by offending people or saying the wrong thing, but at least people know where I stand.
That's not to say I can't make some more attitude improvements. I think I'm quite self aware, and although I'm of the opinion that I am who I am, take me or leave me, I do want to make some changes. Maybe try to curb the trade-offs mentioned above, and be a little more aware of how I might offend people. Being honest is great, and I wouldn't change that for anything, but I might aim to say things a little less directly.
Attitude is the most important choice any of us will make. We make it every time we open our mouths and share our thoughts. We make it every time we approach a situation. I therefore am choosing to:
be more optimistic.
bring out the best in my friends.
be as honest as possible.
be more inquisitive.
be more curious.
and to be more hilarious.
I'll need a lot of help on this, especially the last one, so do me a favour and help me out.
